San Francisco Show Info

THE ART OF BANKSY HOLDS THE WORLD’S LARGEST COLLECTION OF PRIVATELY OWNED BANKSY ART.

This globally acclaimed showcase features original and authenticated works associated with, arguably, the most intriguing and talked-about artist in modern history. On display are prints, canvasses, screenprints, sculptures, unique works and limited-edition pieces mainly dated between the years 1997 to 2008, the period which resulted in Banksy’s most recognizable and well-known works.

The exhibit features iconic works such as ‘Girl and Balloon’, ‘Flower Thrower’ and ‘Rude Copper’ alongside some of Banksy’s lesser known masterpieces. Banksy is most infamous for his outdoor art which can be found in streets all around the world. Banksy’s indoor pieces – original and unique works on canvas, wood and paper – have been less exposed and are also on display at this exhibition.

THE ART OF BANKSY HAS WELCOMED OVER 750,000 VISITORS WORLDWIDE IN MELBOURNE, TEL AVIV, AUCKLAND, TORONTO, MIAMI, GOTHENBURG AND SYDNEY.

Banksy, whose identity remains a mystery is considered one of the world’s top political artists. In 2010, Time magazine selected the British artist for its list of the worlds’ 100 most influential people among the company of Barack Obama, Steve Jobs and Lady Gaga. Over the years, Banksy has carried out a considerable number of ‘pranks’. One of the biggest stories in the art world recently was Banksy having his “Girl with Balloon” painting go through the shredder just moments after the work was sold for nearly $1.4 million at auction.

Yes! The artworks on display at The Art of Banksy were certified and authenticated by Pest Control. The works were sold by Banksy to private collectors, and would normally never get to be seen by the public.

We are excited about sharing these works with San Francisco!

GTP Exhibitions, the producer and curator of The Art of Banksy, runs three consecutive touring exhibitions with works by the artist Banksy. All works on show in the exhibitions are real and authenticated, owned by serious collectors. Banksy creates artwork with limited edition prints, limited edition sculptures and unique one off works. Each edition of our exhibition has the iconic works, like Girl With Balloon and Flower Thrower, which have been created by Banksy in limited edition artist prints. Where each edition of our exhibition differs are the uniques. These one-of-a-kind artworks by Banksy are on show only in that specific exhibition. This is how it is possible to have a show on in San Francisco, Boston and London at the same time. Each have their own specific collection of uniques, next to the works the artist himself has duplicated.

While the exhibit is not authorized by Banksy, it features artworks he sold to private collectors. These works were certified and authenticated by Pest Control.

We are excited about sharing these works that would normally not be accessible to the public!

We would never remove Banksy’s public works – it was meant for the public, and belongs to the public. We believe public art should remain physically accessible to the public out in the wild. The works on display at our exhibit were sold by Banksy to private collectors, and would normally never get to be seen by the public.

We are excited about sharing these works with San Francisco!
